LOL. Most geeks go through the same suspicious. Common people can't stand weird, clumsy guys with more interests in life than just plain sports, booze and women.
This is a very good webcomics, Gilles. You seem like a master of expression: good writing and good visual artistry skills together are hard to find. I don't quite see all the depression behind it though.
This is also a lot more minimalist than XKCD... :)
